A J Stephenson Removals at Billericay Summerfest
With the Rotary Club of Billericay Mayflower`s annual Summerfest fast approaching and after last years wash out, we were hoping for a better weather this year but it wasn’t looking good in the run up to July 15th. The wettest June for 90 years and a July looking the same left us resigned to our fate. But no the clouds cleared and it was a great day, albeit a bit wet under foot. The crowds were out and everyone was just glad to be out in the sunshine.
We unveiled our new mobile self storage Trailer and Towing vehicle, showing off our new vehicle logo`s, quite smart I think! For details of this service follow this link – Mobile Self Storage.
Showcasing our trailer and storage service gave us the idea for the competition- Guess the number of balloons in a storage container. The idea was actually my nephews James who helped on the day, but not blowing up the balloons! all 503 of them. The prizes were (see picture) with L A Fitness kindly donating the top prize, Hannah’s Beauty Rooms and Megarry’s Antique Shop also donating.
The range of guesses was between 35 and 2500! with the correct answer 503.
The winner was Dan Constable with a guess of 501 winning the top prize of 6 months membership at LA Fitness.
Second prize went to Kade Dauldrey with a guess of 500 winning the beauty voucher.
Third prize went to Natasha Livermore with a guess of 500 winning the Cream tea for 2.
There were several guesses of 500 and the winners were drawn from a hat.
It was a great day we met a lot of old friends and made some new ones and we managed to raise nearly £160 for the Rotary club for their charities.
It was all a mad rush but we pulled it off, we were even blowing up balloons at 11pm on Saturday evening! The Stickers were finished on Saturday afternoon. I must say thanks to Steve at Just Us Digital for getting the vehicles done in the nick of time. I must also apologise to him for giving him heart failure every time he was doing a delicate bit of the work a balloon went bang, and made him jump!
Thanks also to Jane, James, Jonathan, Sophie and Stewart who helped on the day and to Jo, Jane & Julie who helped to get things organised.
Look out for us next year! Any ideas on our next competition please let us know. (Last year was guess the number of tapes in a crate)
